Nathan S. Collier founded The Collier Companies, TCC, with the intent to create a different kind of workplace – one with a true sense of community, a place that is a joy to live and work, and a place where Team Members truly care about each other as individuals and demonstrate that every day, in part by the depth of their commitment to quality, excellence and customer service. As a 3x Gator and a lifelong student, he also wanted to create an organization centered around learning and personal and professional growth.

Each year, Mr. Collier co-teaches within TCC a 10-week long program called Collier College sharing the intricacies of real estate investing as well as the life management soft skills necessary to be successful in any field of life such as emotional intelligence, decision making, goal setting, time/energy management, motivation, and communication.

Nathan endowed the Nathan S. Collier Master of Science in Real Estate program through UF’s Warrington College of Business and teaches case studies every year. He is also a professor at UF’s Levin College of Law – where he previously earned his Juris Doctorate degree – and The Hamilton School for Classical and Civic Education. Nathan delivered commencement speeches for UF’s Warrington College of Business in 2010 and 2018 and for UF’s Levin College of Law in 2025.

In 2019, Nathan S. Collier founded The Collier Prize for State Government Accountability through UF College Of Journalism and Communications. The annual prize recognized outstanding investigative journalism focused on State Government and is presented each year at The White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner.

In 2024, Nathan established The Peter F. Collier Awards for Ethics in Journalism, an accolade recognizing student and professional journalists who uphold the highest ethical standards despite facing significant pressures or incentives to compromise. The awards are administered by the Ethics & Journalism Initiative at New York University’s Arthur L. Carter Journalism Institute (EJI).

Nathan’s commitment to strengthening integrity and accountability in journalism also led to the creation of the Nathan S. Collier Business Reporting Program at Columbia Journalism School – a professional program designed to elevate business reporting. He has also served as a member of Columbia University’s Columbia Journalism Review Board of Overseers since 2010.

Nathan continues to support the arts through Collier Challenge matching-gift initiatives benefiting the Hippodrome Theatre and Dance Alive National Ballet.

With over a thousand posts, Nathan blogs twice weekly on personal and professional growth at NSCBlog. Each post closes with his signature line: ‘I share what I most want and need to learn.’
